Gray shell, also known as gray mother of pearl, is believed to embody the healing power of the sea, often inspiring relaxation and harmony. Many find that this organic gemstone can help throughout challenging times and restore balance in life. This gemstone is associated with the solar plexus and throat chakras, which are believed to be responsible for communication, confidence, and self-expression. 

Gray shell forms naturally on the inner layer of the shell of some molluscs and often has streaks of light pink and blue-green. This gemstone is created from a material called nacre, which is responsible for the iridescence and durability of gray shell.

While our other crystals are rated 5 or higher on the Mohs Scale of Mineral Hardness for durability, Gray Shell (AKA gray mother of pearl), has a lower Mohs rating. Despite that, it is known to be extremely resilient and strong due to its layered structure and the contrast in properties between the mineral and organic layers.

Our crystal spinners are slightly domed on one side. This adds to the beauty of each piece but is also meant to indicate the top of the ring. If clicking is part of how you enjoy fidgeting with our jewelry, we encourage you to press on the domed side for clicking and not the back side.
