The dalmatian jasper gemstone is often referred to as the stone of joy and is known for encouraging playfulness and self-expression. Named after its resemblance to the dalmatian dog breed, this stone is thought to enhance relationships and promote happiness. Dalmatian jasper is often associated with the base or root chakras and is revered for its grounding properties. 

This stone is an igneous microcrystalline quartz. It appears as an opaque beige-brown color with dark black spots speckled throughout, caused by deposits of tourmaline. Although commonly referred to as “Dalmatian jasper,” the stone isn’t a jasper at all and more accurately is known as “Dalmatian stone.”
