The Decades Styling Series is off to a great start! The photoshoots and video content are rolling out on CONQUERing's Instagram and TikTok.
In case you're new to the brand or have missed the posts on our social channels, the Decades Styling Series is a styling challenge where three stylists chose a decade and were given a surprise decade to create a look for. They could only use pieces they found at thrift stores paired with CONQUERing jewelry. Three models then showcased the looks the stylists created!
The final looks for all six decades were captured in a professional photoshoot and will all be featured on Instagram over the next few weeks. Behind-the-scenes video content will be featured on our TikTok as well! In addition to social content, we are also featuring each stylist and model on The Conquerer Blog to learn more about the amazing people that participated in the challenge.
In this post, we'd like to introduce you to our first model, Anna.
Meet the Model: Anna
Anna is one of the models we hired to participate in the Decades Styling Series. Anna lives with one of our stylists, Annabella, which is where her modeling career started.
She got involved with the Decades Styling Series after her friend, Via, asked if she wanted to participate in the challenge.
We asked her a few questions to learn more about her experience as a model, advice for anyone looking to get into modeling, and where she sees her future going!
How Did You Begin Your Career as a Model?
As we mentioned above, Anna started modeling to help out her roommate (and fellow Decades Styling Series participant.)
She told us a little more about how she helps Annabella by modeling.
"I have gotten the chance to model [Annabella's] hand crafted & designed outfits to help document them for her variety of fashion courses. She has then gotten the chance to use these photoshoots for her personal business, Moon Angel."—Anna
Beyond that, the Decades Styling Series is one of the first opportunities she's had to professionally model for a brand. Anna did an amazing job modeling the two different looks created by the stylists she was paired with.
Where Do You See Your Career Going?
Since Anna has unique experiences of modeling for a roommate, and now modeling for a brand, we wanted to know where she sees her future as a model.
She told us that she really enjoyed the experience of modeling for a brand, "I hope to continue my career as a model with other brands like CONQUERing. Modeling had always been an aspiration of mine."
We had such a great time working with Anna on this challenge and know that she has a bright future ahead!
Any Advice for Readers Looking to Get into Modeling?
Modeling can be a tough industry to break into and the many types of modeling can make it hard to figure out where to begin. Anna had a lot of great advice for our readers that are looking to get into modeling.
She started off by reminding us taht you should always be nice to people you work with. You never know who has connections or who will remember working with you. Leaving a good impressions with those you work with can make a world of difference in the long run.
"Learning how to be comfortable being yourself can help you in your journey. People want to see your uniqueness and what makes you stand out...Things can become a lot to deal with, reminding yourself that you've got your back gives you power to conquer things you could never imagine."
We absolutely love that advice! When it comes to modeling, being yourself and showing off your unique qualities can be what makes you stand out. It can be easy to think you need to fit within certain standards, but staying true to who you are is what's most important.
Anna and CONQUERing
We loved working with Anna on this challenge and wanted to learn more about her experience with CONQUERing.
First, we had to ask her if she has any favorite CONQUERing products that she finds herself gravitating towards.
"My favorite CONQUERing product is a combination of the blue lace agate twin point with the ViaDeco band both with silver metal. I also love wearing the silver chain charm necklace and bracelet together."
We also asked if she had any thoughts about working on the challenge and modeling for the brand. She told us that it was very empowering to be part of the first ever all girls CONQUERing photoshoot, "Not only was the atmosphere perfect but we also got to celebrate each other with matching elements called EmpowerHER. It was like I had a friendship bracelet for me and the girls at the shoot as a symbol of the bond we created."
