The Decades Styling Series is in full swing! The photoshoots and video content are steadily releasing on CONQUERing's Instagram and TikTok.

In case you've missed the posts and are unfamiliar with what the Decades Styling Series is, here is a little refresher. We hired three stylists and three models to take on an ultimate fashion challenge. The stylists all chose one decade and were give a surprise decade that they had to create individual looks for using pieces they found at a thrift store paired with CONQUERing fidget jewelry.

In addition to the content going live on our social media channels, we've also been featuring each stylist and model on The Conquerer Blog to learn more about the wonderful people that participated in the challenge.

In this post, we'd like to introduce you to our next featured stylist, Maddie.

Meet the Stylist: Maddie

Maddie is one of the stylists we hired to participate in the Decades Styling Series. She is currently in school studying fashion. Maddie also already has her cosmetology license.

She got involved with CONQUERing and the challenge when her friend Via suggested she apply to be a stylist.

We asked her a few questions to learn more about her experience as a stylist, advice she has for people looking to get into styling, and where she hopes to see her future career go.

How Did You Begin Your Career as a Stylist?

As we mentioned above, Maddie is currently studying fashion and already has her cosmetology license. However, her love for fashion and beauty is something she's always been interested in.

Participating in the Decades Styling Series is really the first time she's explored the idea of styling as a career.

"I have always loved styling fun outfits for myself and have worked retail and styled mannequins but this is the first time I have ever explored being a stylist as a career...this was such a fun way to explore a new side of the industry."—Maddie

Maddie did such a great job styling her decades during the challenge. She truly conquered the challenge and created such amazing looks!

Where Do You See Your Career Going?

With her background in cosmetology and fashion, Maddie's options for the future are truly endless. For styling, Maddie said she would love to continue styling for photo shoots like she did during the challenge.

Specifically, she called out that she loved having a theme to follow to style the shoot. She said, "It was so cool having a prompt—like a decade—and going to a thrift or vintage store to see what you can find! It was so rewarding to see the final outcome."

Any Advice for Readers Looking to Find Their Own Style?

Find your personal style, especially when you aren't as passionate about fashion as our stylists, can be a difficult endeavor. That's why we asked Maddie for her advice on finding your own style.

"Don't stress about what's 'trendy' or 'in', just wear whatever you're comfortable in and what feels authentically you! Don't be afraid to take a risk!"

Trends come and go all the time. Maddie is so right that finding staples and going with what YOU'RE comfortable in is truly the best way to find your personal style.

Since she spent so much time working with CONQUERing during this challenge, we wanted to know what her favorite products are and what her experience working with our brand was like.

For Maddie's favorite product, she said she likes mixing and matching ring bands and elements. She told us, "Ooo this is tricky...but my current favorites are the ViaDeco and the Willow Bands mixed with an Oval Crystal or a Twin Point element—more specifically Amazonite and Opal!"

We also wanted to know if she had any final thoughts to share about the challenge and her experience working with us. She shared some great advice about taking a leap and trying new experiences.

"Don't let feeling 'inexperienced' hold you back from trying something new. I was so nervous at first because I had never been a stylist for a shoot before, but it ended up being so much fun and I am so glad I applied!"

We love that advice! Sometimes, we are the only person standing in the way of achieving our goals. Trust in yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to.
