A few weeks ago, we shared the exciting news that CONQUERing is heading to Paris Fashion Week! We applied for the Runway Show hosted by Flying Solo called Ones to Watch that brings independent fashion artists and brands to Paris Fashion Week to show the world their products. We were chosen and thus the journey to Paris began. To learn more about the show and the lead-up to Paris, check out our announcement post.
Our runway show is a collection of 8 looks that represent the CONQUERing brand and showcase our fidget jewelry in a unique way. We aren't planning to reveal the concept of the show just yet, but stay on the lookout for a full explanation of CONQUERing's Paris Fashion Week show. We can guarantee you'll be amazed.
As we near October 2nd, the day we are walking the runway, we wanted to introduce you to the creative team behind the looks. The creative team is made up of 6 members of the Conquer Crew—you might recognize some of them, while others may be new to you. By the end of this blog series, you'll know the creative team behind CONQUERing's Paris Fashion Week show and will be excitedly waiting for the concept reveal.
Meet Via Nelson: A Superior Stylist
You probably recognize Via from her fidget jewelry collections with CONQUERing. Via designed the iconic ViaDeco™ Band and the extremely popular Moments in Time Vessel Collection. She's also done some modeling work—you might have seen her in photos and videos on our social channel and The Conquerer Blog. Via is Tammy's daughter and Jake's sister so she's been involved with CONQUERing since the very start. She started working for the brand full-time this Fall as a co-op student.
She is one of the stylists on our creative team. She helped contribute ideas to the concept of the show at the very beginning and has been working on styling three of the eight looks that we will showcase on the runway. She is working very hard to source and embellish the final look that brings the whole show together.
This isn't her first styling a look. Via was one of the stylists who participated in the Decades Styling Challenge earlier this year. Here is the feature we wrote for her so you can learn more about her styling experience. Via is also a fifth-year student in Fashion Design but doesn't stray way from other creative passions like photography!
Paris Fashion Week Crash Course—Favorite Moments, Surprise Challenges, and a Look Into the Creative Process
We wanted to know everything about Via's experience so far as a member of the creative team. We asked her to share her favorite moments, if there have been any challenges she wasn't expecting, and what she's most looking forward to as we get closer to the show.
From Fashion Student to Paris Fashion Week
Via has been an integral part of the CONQUERing brand from the very beginning. From modeling to creating her own jewelry collections, we couldn't fathom going to Paris Fashion Week without her.
We asked her to share her thoughts when she found out she was going to be attending Paris Fashion Week. She said, "I could not have been more honored and excited to be asked. It's extra exciting that it aligns with what I'm currently studying [Fashion Design] at the University of Cincinnati."
Via is very excited to return to Paris to see the show. She did mention that she's very eager to be surrounded by other creatives at Paris Fashion Week events. As a student in Fashion Design, this is a great opportunity to network and gain inspiration for her own future endeavors.
Peek at the Paris Fashion Week Creative Process
We were eager to hear how the creative process has been for Via. We wanted to know what her favorite part has been, if any challenges have presented themselves, and what she's most looking forward to as we get closer to the show.
Via commended the rest of the creative team when she talked about her favorite part of the process.
"I definitely have enjoyed seeing how much talent our whole team has. It's so fascinating how much we are learning from each other, all coming from different past experiences and talents. Our weekly Thursday call is always inspiring and exciting."
We are truly in awe of how respectful and open-minded the creative team has been. All ideas were welcome, and the team built off of one another to create something truly special.
Since Via is working on something extra special for the final look, that's where the challenges she's faced come from. She told us that the logistics of sourcing a garment to embellish has been difficult, and she anticipates running into a lot of trial and error as she finished the final look.
Finally, we asked her to share what she's most excited for as we lead up to the show. She said, "I cannot wait to pick our models and see them all dressed in the hard work we have been putting in! It's going to feel so rewarding." We are right there with her! We can't wait to see the show come together and share it all with you.

The final question we asked Via was if there were any teasers she could share with us about the show. She said, "I think what is so exciting about our concept for our looks is that hopefully everyone in the world can relate to at least one of the looks, making our collection feel very personable, much like the company!"
